Years ago I was sitting waiting outside in the hallway of the ICU to go and see my Dad after his open heart surgery. My mom was at home in a wheelchair waiting for me to return with the news and my daughters were at school.
I was really in the middle of things in my caregiving years. It wasn’t easy, to say the least….
AND.
And I always had my creativity.
I always made something with my hands.
It was the thing that always kept me connected to myself. Whether it was knitting sitting in a hallway on a plastic chair— it gave me a few moments of calm, of being known, to the familiar to me -in the chaos all around.
It’s the story I tell in today’s video.
It’s the reason I have a Present Bag.
It’s forms the basis of why I know that Present Bag is so important. I share more recent reasons in my video.
This leads me to inviting you to a FREE 3 day Live Workshop Experience I’m calling Begin Again.…sometimes we want to come back to our creativity, but we don’t know where to start. We might think it takes hours, or that you need to be finished the “real work” before you can play and be creative.
My story illustrates that certainly isn’t the case.
It is a Creative Practice, no matter how simple or involved it is, that helps one to carry the difficult things in our life– often ones not of our choosing.
But sometimes we have gotten lost and separated from our creativity and that is why I have developed Begin Again– a gentle way to return.
And yes, it involves getting your own Present Bag and in the three days together, we will do some things together that will go in and you will add some things of your own.
So that by the end of Day 3 you will have experienced being creative again and have the bag to prove it ( to yourself).
I wish you peace on your path,
Lise-Lotte
