Up-cycling a glass to a vase using special wrapping paper

upcycling a glass to a vase using wrapping paper

Here is an idea that is SO simple. I was given a lovely book wrapped in this gorgeous paper for my birthday. Since the paper was in such good shape and it was of such good quality to start with ( and I LOVE the artwork!), I wanted to use it somehow. I simply glued it over the original label. We’ll see how it does if it gets too wet as I continue to use it this summer. But I still have more paper, so I can always re-wrap it. I could also use modge podge if I really wanted to make it more durable. This way I get to enjoy the artwork on the paper as well as a rose from the garden on my mantel piece.

This idea would work so well in tying together recycled glasses to be used as vases on tables of a large celebration. Perfect if you have a colour scheme you are working with, or a theme like “around the world” and you use maps, or a nautical theme and use charts of the local area. The possibilities are endless…and fun!

Enjoy!

The “R&R” is to remind us all that there needs to be time spent on “Rest and Relaxation” in the summer!
