In the summer, a friend brought me some magazines that really look more like books. Limited edition. Beautiful. Square in shape with lovely paper for the mat finish photographs to live.

She was given them from a friend’s husband who was giving away all of his wife’s crafts supplies and books to all of her creative friends because when you die from breast cancer, you don’t need them anymore.
I poured over these gifts, was inspired for future projects, and made some of the things in them.

This inspired me down another path with my cyanotypes…

I share the story here:
It is such a great argument for passing along the things we no longer need.
I might have too many cookbooks that I have never used, not even once. Okay, objectively I do have too many cookbooks.
I am enticed by the photographs and often drawn in by the stories…but I have decided that it’s more important to me that these things are used. So I have gone through them and started passing them along to friends ( along with other books).
I’ve had the fun of sharing fabric from my stash in the last couple of weeks and it makes me so happy to know that this fabric will be lived with- used in draw string bags and a baby quilt.
I’m excited by this..
I can’t believe how long I have had some of this fabric!
I am happy that these items will inspire others in their creativity.
It is equally a gift for me – it lightens me– it creates more of a spacious feeling—- it’s a wonderful way to tangibly clear my way for future creative projects.
I wish you peace on your path,
Lise-Lotte
