What are the chances…

I’ve told you before how fortunate I am that Ilse’s friends are so very kind to me.

Over the weekend, one of Ilse’s friends was in town to compete in a race.

She dropped off this beautiful letter and a loaf of bread she had made.

Although I was lucky to see her on her way to load up on carbs at a pasta forward restaurant- I texted her after I read her letter to thank her…

A little while later I got a very kind text back, but not from her. It was from the person who now has her number ( I had her old number- we had been messaging through this app).

The person said that they thought, for a moment, it was a message from their friend because they had just left a homemade loaf of bread at their friend’s door.

Excuse me- what are the chances?

How many people do this?

What a wonderful world this is when people make the time, make the effort, make a thing for someone else.

It makes me think…. It makes me grateful. It makes me sad that more often than not this is not how the world works.

It makes me think, one kind word, one kind text back to say you have the wrong number, one kind text back to say you assume your text will be coming soon from the lucky recipient of your homemade loaf will be on its way.

It makes me think: what can I make to make someone’s day this week.

It makes me curious to know: what does it make you think?
