What is this new year like for you?
Do you feel like it is ‘a new start’ or do you feel like September is the start to the new year- perhaps it felt that way as a child or because we’ve had children ( or still do) in the school system and here in Canada that’s when they ‘ go back’.
I must say that at this time of year, perhaps because of the lack of light, I do start to plan what I am going to plant starting in my greenhouse shortly- I’m looking at you ranunculus corms! Yes I know, it’s also because I have an urban flower farm and I already have large orders for later in the summer and that many flowers don’t just appear from nowhere.
As I write this, it occurs to me that the same can be said for the whole of my small business. We’ve spent a large part of this holiday time building a new website and alongside that a whole new purpose built website for my on- line community called Gathering Experiences that are Meaningful ( GEMs). It is for women who know that the little things are the big things and who would like to be even more creative and connected in their lives who join this wonderful, kind community. I’ll write more about it in the next days in case this is something that appeals to you. The membership opens for only a few days later in January.
To say I am excited about this website, GEMs, my flower business ( partygreen flowers) is an understatement!
I don’t make goals per se at this time of year, but I do set intentions.
I think on our walk later, I will finalize them in my mind.
I also like the idea of choosing a word for the year. Are you doing that? I haven’t decided on a word yet.
We’ve woken up to some sunshine this morning ( which after so much grey feels notable). If you are new here, let me welcome you to this kind and thoughtful community. With the world the way it is, kindness is more important than ever in our interactions.
