Here is a wonderful hike that we did recently at Mackenzie Bight.
Thank you to my oldest daughter for the pictures (all except the one with the red berries that I took)
We hear so much about children and youth not having enough time outside and not having a connection with nature. It seems so simple and yet so difficult to change this. One really only needs one thing to go outside to a local park, beach or in your neighbourhood: time. It’s so difficult for people to have or make that time, but the benefits are not simply physical. I find that we often have some of our best conversations and memories from times that we have shared as a family “outside”.
Where are some of your favorite places to go and spend time in the fresh air with the children in your life?

Hornby Island (of course), badminton in our backyard, cycling the demo forest road, walking to Edgemont for coffee/cocoa on a Saturday morning.
