We went to Salt Spring Island for the Apple Festival. Started by a man I find inspiring for his generosity of spirit: Harry Burton of Apple Luscious Organic Orchard.
He started it in 1999. Now people book holidays to be there for it ( and to avoid the ferry line ups on the day because it’s always so busy).
Harry didn’t start his farming chapter until he was 50 and what I love so much about this as it relates to creativity is that often people think that they can’t be creative if they haven’t always been creative.
“The best time to plant an apple tree is 10 years ago and the next best time is today”- I’ve seen this quote over the years in many places including painted onto a handmade sign made out of driftwood in the middle of an orchard once….
Same thing with creativity.
Let go of the years you didn’t spend being creative and start with today.
Something.
Anything.
It doesn’t matter if it’s small or ambitious.
And then see where it goes.
Make it for you. Because it’s fun.
Consider seeing it in the context of gratitude.
I wish you peace on your path,
Lise-Lotte
