One of the lovely things about a community is that there are stories.
I have always been drawn in by stories of all kinds.
In this case, the stories of people who are buying tickets to my market experience.
By the way, I believe that these are universal stories, so even if you and I don’t live in the same place, I bet the same stories are happening ahead of the markets where you are!
A sister travelling here to Vancouver Island to surprise her sister by bringing her to this market….that sister? my babysitter growing up– through the miracles of social media- she saw my name on Facebook and while I don’t really spend time there, my instagram material migrates over there and is shared.
A dear friend who has undergone cancer treatments and knows that by the time this market happens, her treatments will have finished – a celebration of her courage and bravery.
A wonderful friend, recently retired, who will travel to my island to help “in any way she can”.
A supportive friend who bought the first ticket which fills me with confidence (in all the projects that I do) in that I respect her opinion and love her like a sister- so I view it as a vote of confidence. I always feel so grateful to be seen in my creative projects and adventures by her.
And there are so many more, and likely loads of stories behind the names in the ticket site that I do not know. I may never know.
I may never know what others are going through or what a cosy event in my garden means to people,
but I know this…
They made an intentional choice to come here.
They approach the experience with kindness.
And most of all – I want them to know that I am grateful to be able to be helpful in this way. To provide the buffet of an experience knowing that that is where my role ends and their experience begins.
I wish you peace on your path,
Lise-Lotte
