You Be the Judge – the one thing that keeps us from creativity + the antidote 🌱

I’ve been thinking a lot about judgement lately.

How it stops women from pursuing their creative dreams and ambitions; how judgement can keep us stuck ( particularly if we are not aware of it); and how judgement can limit an interesting and creative life.

Given all the downsides of judging ourselves and others and keeping stuck from having a more expansive and creative mindset, I thought: what is the alternative? What is the antidote?

It’s curiosity.

I invite you to stop yourself next time you have a judgement, and then be curious…..I wonder why? I wonder if? I wonder…..

I can guarantee you that the information you get will be more layered, more interesting, perhaps challenging and definitely richer.

When I used to do workshops for Early Childhood Educators, I would always leave them with the phrase: Stay curious.

When you are with children, it is so helpful to be able to stay patient when you stay curious about what has just happened at the sand table… it provides better information, a fuller picture and it helps the children involved feel seen by you the educator…imperative for lots of reasons..
