a reminder from my seeds

One of the large banquets that I am doing the flowers for is a high school graduation at the end of June.

I recorded a two minute video from my greenhouse for the student organizing committee and their adult sponsor.

I wanted to share with them the parallel journey we are on and also show them how it starts… and how long it takes to grow this Beauty.

I am very excited to make the bouquets for their celebration with family and friends, while at the same time I am noticing and present to this moment in the season.

I don’t want to miss all the beauty I see everyday in my garden in spring.

I hope that they too, along with all the work of studying for exams, figuring out universities, and next steps, that they will also enjoy the moments of their last term of high school… not to wish it away…just as I am reminding myself of when I am moving compost and standing for hours in the greenhouse sowing seeds and moving little plants around.

I think that one of the many gifts of a garden whether your own, a park or the natural world, is that flowers, new growth, buds, minute noticeable changes demand that we pay attention.

Flowers and flowering trees can help us with this at this time of year through their scent, their re-emergence, their colour, how they change a view or we notice them as they dance in the gentle breeze with those around them…

What are you noticing in this season in the natural world?
