With the help of two very helpful friends who are both passionate new weavers, I started a project that I wasn’t sure I could actually do. It takes a long time to “thread” the loom (to put each thread through a small wire with a hole in a particular order – at one point when I was feeling like this was all a little too much- I walked outside for a little break and that’s when I was inspired by a particular spider–all that beautiful work- the pattern..I came back later to see how much the spider had done—Luckily I don’t have to rely on my weaving for food…
This is from a pattern based on a Scandinavian pattern. I love the white and red, but I also really love the “linen” colour with red..
In looking for a ribbon to attach I found the little tags my Mom had given me years ago.

Because it gets wound onto the loom as you weave, it’s like a little (well big, for me) surprise when one sees one’s work in its entirety!
This is absolutely beautiful work. You can see the love woven into the linen.
Oh, they turned out so beautifully! Congratulations on a gorgeous finish – they are so lovely and I am happy that we got to see them in progress! Thanks for explaining the process. I really had not considered all of that prep work and set up. Your photos are just perfect, too.
